Participant Declaration & Disclaimer

By registering for this competition and submitting my entry, I confirm that I have read, understood and agreed to the following terms:

1. Original Content: I confirm that my submitted reel or short film is my original work, or that I have obtained all necessary permissions to use any third-party material. I also confirm that content is not AI generated.
2. Copyright Ownership: I retain ownership of the copyright in my original submission, subject to the licence granted to the Organiser below.
3. Non-Exclusive Licence to HumanityFirst: I grant HumanityFirst Software Technology Pvt. Ltd. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, publish, display, communicate, distribute, share, and adapt my submitted content for the purposes of conducting the competition, promoting the competition, showcasing selected entries, and promoting HumanityFirst's family legacy preservation, biography writing and related initiatives.
   This licence permits HumanityFirst to use the content on its websites, social media channels, digital platforms, presentations, publicity materials and other competition-related promotional media. I remain free to use, publish, license and monetise my content independently.
4. No Transfer of Ownership: I understand that this is a non-exclusive licence and not a transfer of copyright ownership to HumanityFirst.
5. Third-Party Permissions: I confirm that I have obtained the necessary permissions from identifiable persons appearing in my submission, where required, and from the owners of any music, photographs, footage, artwork or other third-party material used.
6. Consent of Family Members: I confirm that I have obtained appropriate consent before recording or sharing private, personal or sensitive stories, photographs, conversations or family information.
7. Respectful Content: I will not submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, misleading, abusive, discriminatory, invasive of privacy or otherwise prohibited under the competition rules.
8. Accuracy of Information: I confirm that the facts, stories, names and representations in my submission are accurate to the best of my knowledge and that I will not knowingly misrepresent any person or event.
9. Eligibility, Age & Competition Rules: I confirm that I am aged 18 or older, or that I am a student/youth entrant under 18 submitting with the explicit consent of my parent/guardian or under educational institution sponsorship. I agree to comply with the eligibility criteria, submission guidelines, deadlines, technical requirements and other published competition rules.
10. Judging and Disqualification: I understand that entries will be evaluated according to the published judging criteria. The Organiser may reject or disqualify entries that violate the rules, contain unauthorised material or involve misrepresentation.
11. Prizes and Results: I understand that prizes will be awarded in accordance with the published prize structure and that the Organiser's documented judging and verification process will determine the results, subject to applicable law.
12. No Guarantee of Publication: I understand that registration or submission does not guarantee that my content will be selected, published, promoted, awarded a prize or featured by the Organiser.
13. Editing and Presentation: I permit the Organiser to make reasonable technical edits, including resizing, formatting, subtitling, captioning, excerpting and adding competition branding, provided these do not materially misrepresent my work.
14. Promotional Use and Attribution: I understand that my entry may be featured in competition publicity. Where reasonably practicable, the Organiser will credit me by my submitted creator name or handle.
15. Personal Information: I consent to the collection and use of my registration details for competition administration, communication, verification and the other purposes explained in the competition's Privacy Notice.
16. Responsibility for My Entry: I accept responsibility for my submission and agree to cooperate in resolving legitimate copyright, consent or ownership complaints relating to it.
17. Changes and Cancellation: I understand that the Organiser may make reasonable changes to the competition schedule or procedures, or cancel the competition where necessary, subject to the published rules and applicable law.
18. Final Confirmation: I confirm that the information I have provided is accurate and that I am authorised to submit this entry and grant the permissions described above.
